Alice and Will are sitting at the little table in the kitchen. I'm bustling around nearby doing dishes. Will turns to me and asks quietly, politely:
Will: Susan, can you go away?
Me: Uh, sure (curious, I leave the room for a second and listen)
Will: Alice, I love you very much. I want to hug you.
Alice doesn't respond. Will doesn't do anything more. Relationships can be complicated.

ReplyDeleteWill just turned 3 years old. He's a cute kid, soft-spoken, and yet very energetic when he wants to be. Alice squeals his name every time she sees him.
