I love, love, love this project. He was asked to create his name in a big way (at least as long as he is tall) using items that represent parts of his personality and interests.
M: campfire roasting sticks (marshmallows, baby!)
A: slippery socks (he wears them on his hands and feet to slide around on the tile)
TT: Magnatiles (just plain fun to play with)
H: books (loves stories in a big way)
E: Legos (building fun!)
W: angel hair pasta (plain noodles with stinky cheese are his favorite)
