ReplyDeletePokies are Alice's name for facial hair stubble. We recently had to explain to her that the word "shocked" has two meanings (i.e. surprised and/or harmed by electrical current). It's not clear exactly which meaning she intended for this piece (the concept of electricity seems too abstract for her), but he has stubble all over his face. Perhaps she was envisioning Daddy getting a big pokey kiss all over his face like the kisses she endures on a daily basis :)
